IBM has announced an exciting Off Campus Drive for the position of Software Engineer - Confluent in Bangalore. Fresh graduates as well as candidates with up to 4 years of experience are eligible to apply. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in distributed systems, cloud technologies, Kafka, and modern software engineering practices.
Selected candidates will work alongside experienced engineers, contribute to Confluent's engineering platform, build scalable distributed services, participate in code reviews, solve production issues, and develop enterprise-grade software used by customers worldwide.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver software features with guidance from senior engineers.
- Work on USM capabilities including Agent and Cloud Console.
- Contribute to C3 workflows such as cluster health monitoring, topic visibility, connector status, and consumer monitoring.
- Write design documents for assigned development tasks.
- Follow IBM's software engineering standards and development lifecycle.
- Write unit tests and integration tests for software quality.
- Identify and fix software bugs.
- Participate actively in peer code reviews.
- Troubleshoot customer-facing production issues using logs and metrics.
- Participate in on-call rotations with senior engineer mentorship.
- Take ownership of software modules and continuously improve them.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Master's Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- 0 to 4 years of software development experience.
- Freshers are encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms.
- Knowledge of Concurrency and Multithreading concepts.
- Understanding of Computer Networks.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems.
- Programming experience in Java, Go, or similar modern programming languages.
- Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Apache Kafka.
- Understanding of Distributed Systems.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Open Source project contributions.
- Interest in Platform Engineering.
- Knowledge of Monitoring and Observability tools.
