Cisco is inviting applications from 2027 graduating students for the position of Software Engineer – India Engineering/UHR-FY27. Selected candidates will work with experienced engineers on innovative networking, cloud, security, embedded systems, and software development projects while gaining hands-on industry experience in a collaborative environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Contribute to solving business and technical problems related to Cisco products and services.
- Analyze technical requirements and understand customer and business needs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, develop, and deliver software solutions.
- Work on small to medium-sized software features from technical design to implementation.
- Apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following coding standards.
- Perform coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Participate in code reviews and implement review suggestions.
- Execute unit testing and ensure application scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Follow secure coding principles and software security best practices.
- Monitor application issues and assist in production support when required.
- Estimate task completion timelines and communicate progress to the team.
- Share technical knowledge and support team members in solving engineering challenges.
- Develop networking, application software, or embedded system solutions based on business requirements.
- Continuously learn new technologies and contribute to engineering innovation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only 2027 graduating students are eligible to apply.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Freshers with 0 years of experience.
- Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals.
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Good programming skills in Python.
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing, and switching concepts.
- Basic understanding of Firewalls, VPN, IPSec, TLS, IDS/IPS, and network security is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems, Embedded Systems, or Device Drivers is a plus.
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated with a passion for learning emerging technologies.
